Leadership Training Held in Lowell, Massachusetts July 1-3, 2010

A free training to promote leadership skills was held in Lowell, Massachusetts on July 1-3, 2010. Among several speakers was our advisor, Dr. Christian Schafferer, a professor currently working in Taiwan who flew to Lowell for the event. He is an author of several books and an expert on elections in Asia. He spoke about political marketing.

Following the training 500 people attended a dinner to celebrate the third anniversary of the founding of the Khmer Anti-Poverty Party.

We were impressed with the widespread interest in our party philosophy and the friendliness of the people of Lowell and Boston. We look forward to returning to Lowell soon to further the momentum. View Photos

Leadership Training Held in Long Beach, California April 1-3, 2010

The excitement and energy of the campaign was increased on April 1 when Daran Kravanh traveled to Long Beach California to do free leadership training and attend a dinner. He was accompanied by his wife, Bree, and three of his advisors and trainers, Ms. Barbara Shotwell, Ms. Cynthia Santiago and Dr. Anise Ahmed. He was also joined by his political advisor, Ms. Cathy Allen and her Vice President Mr. Stanley Tsao.

The many great volunteers in Long Beach worked hard to bring together a diverse group of men and women, young and old from throughout the country to come and learn about a new way of leading - a way that includes respect for human life.

At the dinner Daran said, in part:

You and I have the same human potential as all those brave people who have gone before us in America, in India, in South Africa - everywhere throughout the world where people have struggled. We have the same two hands, the same two eyes. We have the same dream to end suffering and bring dignity to people. And we will be successful. We have no choice but to be successful because our Cambodian brothers and sisters are depending on us to save their lives. We are not talking about politics. We are talking about life and death...If you only see what is in front of you - guns, money, power, authority, you will begin to see the impossibility of the situation. But I see far beyond what is on the surface. I see far beyond what is in front of me. I never, ever think about failure. I am too full of hope. I have no space for negativity. I have no time for rest. My mission gives me energy and courage. Read full speech

Thanks to Congresswoman Laura Richardson

The Honorable Congresswoman Laura Richardson also attended our dinner in Long Beach and shared her enthusiasm for change. We appreciated her presence and work to bring dignity to Cambodian people.

"When I despair I remember that through human history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fail. Think of that always."
